Balistikal Queer Retreat

Our retreat is a space to center BIPOC queer arts and healing, and a space to be our unique selves with fearless free expression.

A group of seven divine beings connected with the local community through music, food, ancestral drinks, and the territory. We spent days on the farm with the AfroIndigenous food access project Protectores de la Tierra, surfed the waves of the Pacific Ocean in Termales with the local surf community, danced to live music rituals with Tambacum, and visited the sacred thermal baths of Jurubirá on a walk through the forest with local guide Alirio González.

All throughout, we practiced ancestral healing rituals connecting with the four elements — the earth, its waterways, fresh airs, and fires. This healing space, for and with queer artists and creative activists, Black, Indigenous, and mestiza Latinx people and our allies, allowed us to recharge and refuel to continue our work.

In partnership with LiberArte, donations supporting the retreat are tax deductible in the U.S.
