A community festival preserving local culture while raising awareness about the cangrejo meón and its vital mangrove habitat.
The Festival del Cangrejo Meón took place from June 19 to 22, 2025, in the community of Jurubirá, located in the municipality of Nuquí, in the beautiful department of Chocó.
The festival's main goal is the preservation and promotion of local culture, as well as raising awareness about the importance of conserving the cangrejo meón and its mangrove habitat, an ecosystem vital to the region's biodiversity. During the event, cultural, educational, and recreational activities bring local communities together with visitors, promoting respect for the environment and ancestral traditions.
LiberArte is happy to have sponsored this festival, supporting the community of Jurubirá in celebrating its culture and protecting its mangroves.
