LiberArte Awarded New Music USA's Organization Fund

LiberArte Inc., the Queens-based nonprofit arts organization dedicated to nurturing artists co-creating joyful and abundant futures in harmony with each other and the Earth, has been awarded a grant through New Music USA's Organization Fund , with support in part by Fifth House Ensemble.

LiberArte was supported by New Music USA's Organization Fund, with support in part by Fifth House Ensemble; support for organizations in New York State are made possible in part by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature; support for organizations in New York City are funded in part by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council, and with support from the Howard Gilman Foundation.

The Organization Fund is a national grant program that supports outstanding organizations working regularly with music creators and artists, offering crucial resources to their communities. LiberArte was recognized for its commitment to amplifying new, ancestral, and experimental sound rooted in healing, justice, and community with a global reach spanning multilingual Indigenous and Afrodiasporic works.

Founded in Jackson Heights, Queens – one of the most linguistically and culturally diverse neighborhoods in the world – LiberArte supports primarily BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ artists primarily in the U.S. and abroad through grants, artist residencies, educational programming, and cultural organizing. Through sound, story, and ceremony, the organization cultivates spaces of belonging and transformation, amplifying creativity as a force for collective liberation, intergenerational healing, and vibrant cultural preservation.
