Queens, NY — March 13, 2026 — LiberArte Inc. is proud to support The Rosemead Incident, a thought-provoking short science fiction film produced by filmmaker Zoe Tamara and directed by Mexican-American director Cesar Cervantes. The film explores identity, belonging, and the emotional realities of the immigrant experience.

The Rosemead Incident tells the story of Kevin Chen, an immigrant who believes he is a bona fide alien living on Earth. When he convinces a documentary crew to film his long-awaited reunion with his extraterrestrial family, a decades-old conspiracy theory resurfaces. 

Through its imaginative premise, the film examines the ways people construct personal narratives to cope with isolation, displacement, and the search for belonging. While humorous and mysterious at times, the story also reflects the deeper emotional truths faced by many immigrants navigating unfamiliar environments while holding onto memories of home.

The film went into production during a period when immigration enforcement raids were increasing across Los Angeles, lending urgency and resonance to its themes. In this context, The Rosemead Incident becomes both a science-fiction tale and a timely reflection on how society defines who belongs and who is treated as an outsider.
