LiberArte named recipient of Flushing Town Hall's Community Arts Grant

LiberArte Awarded Flushing Town Hall's Community Arts Grant for 2024

April 2024

Flushing, New York - In a bid to enrich the cultural landscape of Queens, Flushing Town Hall has announced LiberArte Inc. as the proud recipient of their esteemed Community Arts Grant for 2024. The grant, supported by the New York State Council on the Arts and the Statewide Community Regrants Program, aims to foster artistic endeavors that resonate with the diverse communities of Queens.

LiberArte Inc. will utilize the grant to collaborate with NYC Parks Far Rockaways Amphitheater. Together, they will orchestrate a vibrant festival celebrating Afro-Diasporic music, presenting Afro-Colombian traditional music group, Tambacum, during their 2024 U.S. tour for a special live performance.

Complementing this spectacle will be appearances by other Afro-Diasporic groups, promising a medley of rhythm, melody, and cultural exchange.

Moreover, LiberArte Inc. has curated workshop series for young people of the Rockaways, serving as a platform to delve deeper into the rich tapestry of African descendant art and culture. This interactive segment aims to foster dialogue, understanding, and appreciation for the diverse artistic expressions within the African diaspora.

"We are thrilled to receive the Flushing Town Hall's Community Arts Grant for 2024," expressed Yura Sapi, CEO of LiberArte Inc. "This invaluable support enables us to continue our mission of celebrating and nurturing artists for a thriving planet where all beings experience joy and harmony with each other and mother Earth. We're excited to be fostering community engagement and cultural exchange in Far Rockaway partnering with local nonprofit Laru Beya Collective and CasaFinca NYC."
