Live music, dance, film, and community programming take over Gleane Street in Elmhurst, Queens on June 21, June 28, July 5 and July 12, 2026
QUEENS, NY — LiberArte, in partnership with Terraza 7 and Acoustic Memories, announces "The Street Is Ours," a DOT Open Streets x Terraza 7 and Acoustic Memories celebration taking place on Gleane Street in Elmhurst, Queens on four Sundays: June 21, June 28, July 5, and July 12, 2026. Admission is free and open to the public.
The event marks 25 years of Terraza 7, one of New York City's most vital cultural spaces, and returns to the very block where the venue's story began. The celebration honors the generations of immigrants who have built New York City through their labor, culture, and art — voices that, organizers say, grow louder every year.
Sunday, June 21 — Cuba: The Pulse, From Rumba to Timba
Sunday, June 28 — Colombia: Mestizo Territories, Voices of the Atlantic Coast and Beyond
Sunday, July 5 — From the Mediterranean to Veracruz: Routes of the Son
Sunday, July 12 — African Roots in South America: Drums That Never Fell Silent
The four-day series will bring together live music, dance, film, and community programming that trace musical and cultural lineages spanning the Mediterranean, Mexico, Iran, Spain, Venezuela, and Peru, reflecting the diversity of the immigrant communities that call Elmhurst, Queens home.
