Queens, NY − May 6, 2025 − LiberArte is proud to share an open call from the Dominicans Love Haitians Movement, for the third annual Nou Akoma Nou Sinèrji (We Heart We Synergy) Haitian-Dominican Transnational Symposium, this year held under the theme: Unarmed Truth and Unconditional Love.

We invite artists, cultural workers, and visionary thinkers to submit works that resonate with the teachings and vision of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.—a vision rooted in truth-telling, courageous love, and collective liberation. This open call is an opportunity to respond to today’s injustices with creative force. How can we, as artists, bear witness to truth and lead with love in a time of political rollbacks, cultural erasure, and structural repression?

Submissions are welcome from all artistic disciplines including visual art, writing, performance, film, and interdisciplinary work. While the symposium centers the lived experiences of Dominican and Haitian communities, proposals are open to all who align with the values of justice, dignity, and transformative solidarity.

Join us in building the world Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. dreamed of, where systems transform rather than destroy, where empathy overcomes division, and where the arts fuel revolution.

Themes to consider include: History, Memory, Erasure, Solidarity, Kinship, Protest, Repression, Empathy, Futurism, Liberation, and more.
