Artists, DJs, Speakers, MCs, Partners, and Volunteers Invited to Co-Create Transformative Celebration
Queens, NY – May 2, 2025 — LiberArte Inc. is pleased to announce the official open call for collaborators for the 2025 Afro-Diasporic Ocean Festival, a vibrant outdoor celebration of Afro-descendant and Indigenous culture, creativity, and environmental justice. The festival is tentatively scheduled for Sunday, July 27, 2025, at the Rockaway Beach Amphitheater at Beach 94th Street in Queens, New York.
The Afro-Diasporic Ocean Festival is a multidisciplinary, day-long event that uplifts the sacred relationship between people of the African diaspora, Indigenous communities, and the ocean. Through live performance, ritual, movement, and storytelling, the festival centers cultural preservation, ocean reverence, and community resilience in the face of climate change.
LiberArte is now welcoming submissions and expressions of interest from:
"This showcase not only exhibits the importance of sharing our diverse cultures it also encourages and spreads our shared love for protecting, preserving and educating the community about our lovely ocean," says Tanya Alfonso, Festival Producer.
Honorariums will be provided to selected performers, with performance lengths ranging from 10 to 30 minutes, depending on the nature of the proposal and available funding. All collaborators will be part of an intentional, community-rooted planning process in the months leading up to the event.
